Reflexology ~ uses pressure on points on the feet and hands which correspond to specific muscles, organs glands, and bones. Breaking up the congestion helps the nerves to relax, allowing blood and nerve impulses to flow more freely. Lymphatic Drainage Therapy ~ reduces swelling, detoxifyes the body, and can alleviate chronic pain and headaches by activating fluid circulation and stimulating the immune system. Deep tissue massage ~ releases chronic patterns of muscular tension using fingers, thumbs, and elbows. Greater pressure is applied relative to Swedish massage. Swedish Massage ~ uses gliding, rolling, kneading and circular strokes, as well as percussion and vibration. Aashiatsu Massage ~ "Ahh..shiatsu" might be the more proper way to spell aahshiatsu. It means "foot pressure". It is a form of barefoot massage, using a table with bars overhead and applied lotion. |
